a train of thought - lost

Heat

Unrequited love has become so usual I was careful, shy and unassuming He left the morning after I finally let myself fall in.

And the other end burns just as deep. A hot coal that I'm tossed I've no choice but to catch, let burn me, all the while I'm insisting I set no fire to breathe such heat.

How can one heart burn while the other wanders I wonder. How can we fall so hard into something that exists only to us.
